Our Specialist IT Recruitment Process

VMR Consultants operate a strict service policy to ensure that the information, resources and commitment of our clients is treated with the same care that we expect from our own business partners. We work in close partnership with our clients and once instructed on a requirement create a long list of candidates who could fill the position. The initial shortlist is made up of:

  • Candidates we are aware of from memory and have an existing relationship with.
  • Candidates sourced from online platforms by a dedicated back-office team of sourcers.
  • Passive and active candidates from our specialist internal database.
  • Passive and active candidates from external third-party dabases.
  • Advertisements on specialist job boards.
  • Referrals from candidates and HR contacts.

Shortlisting and Screening IT Candidates

Candidates are then filtered by technical experience, stability of work history, personality and culture fit. We then refine this into a second shortlist and attempt to contact and qualify every candidate based on your requirements. Every candidate submitted to you is accompanied by a detailed brief. Before approaching our final shortlist of candidates we create a detailed profile and translate it into a pitch that presents your company and vacancy in the best possible light.

We also overcome potential objections the candidate may have and ensure that they fully understand and are motivated by the opportunity. This is a vital step in candidate driven markets where the best candidates are accustomed to choosing their interviews and receiving several offers.

Hiring IT Candidates

Client and candidate receive support throughout the recruitment process in the form of regular interview feedback (from both parties) and further assistance in the decision making process. Where possible, we will share what market competitors are paying and provide other useful information to secure potential hires.

When an offer is made, we manage the process to ensure you have the best chance of acquiring the favoured candidate at the right level of remuneration. To guarantee we meet your start date deadline we will even negotiate with the candidate’s existing employer on your behalf.
