A common misconception is that recruitment is a basic sales job that entails cold calling and persuasion. IT recruitment requires a highly defined skill set. Our consultants have a deep appreciation for their market, their clients and relevant compliance laws across their niche in Europe. We host specialist technology trainings, in which a senior consultant will answer questions and explain the technologies for you in an understandable manner, allowing you to become a true expert in your market. We work with recruitment specific software and have a library of resources to ensure you are up to speed quickly to make a success of your role here, no matter what your experience of the IT industry.
We invest significantly in training & development. Each consultant enters a structured training program followed by regular training and review sessions conducted by our dedicated Training Manager. This involves around 90 hours of training throughout your first two months, comprised of individual and group sessions, recruitment role-play, theory and an extensive video library to ensure that you hit your full potential inside the recruitment industry as quickly as possible.
Our commission structure and incentives programme means that 20 - 22.5% of our total GP goes straight to our target-hitting recruitment consultants. Because of our focus on progression, VMR Consultants offers an industry leading remuneration package that includes 3K salary increments and uncapped commission earnings. Based on average performance, those starting on 18k salary with a 42k OTE usually reach 30K salaries with a 65k OTE within 3 years. Besides financial rewards, we foster a competitive yet enjoyable atmosphere by running daily, weekly and monthly incentive and reward schemes.
We aim to give all of our consultants the correct environment to flourish and we want VMR Consultants to be a place that our consultants proud to work in. We understand that you will succeed if you enjoy the place you work. We hold casual Fridays, as well as having access to alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on a Friday afternoon in the office. We reward our high achieving employees with regular trips to Michelin star restaurants such as Galvin at Windows, Kensington Roof Gardens, The Savoy and many others; staff away days and regular company social events, such as paid for nights out locally, as well as company BBQ’s. We aim to send all our consultants home early on a Friday to enjoy their well-earned weekends!
We have extra-long lunches on Mondays and Wednesdays to allow our consultants to go to the gym, or maybe just relax and play a couple of games of FIFA on the Playstations we have in the office.
We also value our employee’s wellbeing and health, and as such we have fresh fruit in the office delivered every day and also offer free eye tests.
Unlike other recruitment agencies, we focus on niche technology verticals to maintain regular correspondence with hiring authorities to create a ‘warm’ calling environment for our consultants. As of May 2015 have over 230,000 candidates on our database and are consistently adding to this through our sourcing team, who are trained to spot relevant candidates and contact them on your behalf. We also have a New Business function specifically designed to find new clients for our consultants to allow you an easier step to setting up your own portfolio of candidates and clients. We use cutting edge software to ensure that all of our consultants can spot clients and candidates not available to most other recruitment companies.
